An Enhanced Broadband Policy

“I feel the government should have a very strong internet policy, and make the availability of Internet free in the villages. Also the GST (Goods and Services Tax) and the delivery tax should be uniform across the country. Also, I feel that last few months are the most difficult times for the youth in the age bracket of 20-25 years as majority of their salary gets deducted due to tax. I feel that either the government should avoiding taxing people in this group of keep the slab at more than 5 lakhs.,” says Gaurav Singhal, Co-Founder, IMStylish.in

Apart from this, he feels the government should look into improving the infrastructure in terms of the delivery of goods as there are many zip codes which are not serviceable except by the postal services, which makes the people unable to buy branded products even if they have the buying power. He also feels that the government should work at reducing the transaction costs which would enable the ecommerce companies to provide cheaper products to the customers. “I feel that there is very less brand exposure in the remote areas of the country, so the government should work at making a policy to support the internet bandwidth and mobile usage in these areas to ensure better reach,” says Singhal.
