Indian nominations in 53rd Grammy Awards
2010 was a year that acknowledged India's artistic talent. Indians have proved every now and again that they have the skill and mettle to tackle top notch artists of the world and this time the platform was Grammy awards. Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon, a New York-based businesswoman-turned-musician, was nominated for a Grammy Award for her album 'Soul Call', while Vijay Iyer, an accomplished avant-garde pianist and composer, was also nominated for a Grammy in its Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Individual or Group category for his album, 'Historicity.' To add to the glory was the album featuring Indian Tabla artist Sandeep Das, which won a Grammy nomination in the 'Best Classical Crossover album.' Indians sizzle at 10th annual Tech awards
India was yet again honored for its rich talent when an Indian company that converts rice husks to electricity represented the nation at the 10th annual Tech Awards by The Tech Museum of Innovation. There are other notable Indian strides along with several other projects at work in South Asia which have been named this year's Tech Award Laureates. This includes International Development Enterprises India who manufactures and distributes a variety of foot-operated, water-lifting devices.
