U.S. Indians cry foul on H1B Visa price hike
U.S. policies on visa had always concerned India, a country which is the major outsourcer to U.S. This time H1B visa price hike definitely got heated up as many American Indian associations took charge of it. Protests and fasts have been held at Indian consulates in San Francisco, Houston, Chicago and New York at 10 days a stretch, to draw attention to new, lengthy waiting times for obtaining Indian visas. The project was titled 'The Recognition of Emotion in Human Speech' and it was truly recognition for India's little big brain. Akash Krishnan along with Matthew Fernandez of Portland, Oregon, developed a computer algorithm that can detect a speaker's emotions better than current technology and shared the $100,000 grand prize at the 2010 Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology.
