A surprise entrant to feature the list, the TechStep is a little-known diagnostic tool, which allowed technicians to troubleshoot problems associated with Mac systems. It’s still believed that this troubleshooting tool was Apple’s first step into the handheld mobile computing platform. The interesting part of this device was that it ran itself on embedded computer software.
