Network Connection speeds fuel mobile downloads and encourage streaming, thus making it one of the key enablers of mobile data traffic growth. Cisco predicts that mobile speed, and networks such as the 2G, 3G, and 4G, will see nine times its present growth by 2016.

The report notes that with more people opting for streamed content over simply downloaded or other broadcasted content, the trend could land us increasing mobile cloud traffic 28-fold by 2016, which amounts to a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 95 percent.
