Mobile Internet Trends for 2011-2016

The VNI predicts that by 2016, the world will have about 10 billion mobile Internet-connected devices, (which include machine-to-machine connected devices such as GPS systems in cars) but the projected population for that year amounts to 7.3 billion. With more mobile devices than humans, one wonders where this trend will lead us, especially since 2011 alone had smartphones consuming three times the amount of data consumed per mobile phone in 2010.
