Bhagyashri, an assistant sales tax commissioner in Amravati district of Maharashtra cleared the exam and secured 802th rank in the midst of a jaundice attack. She is a resident of Morshi Tehsil in Amaravathi district. In an interview to TOI, she said, “clearing the exam was never a cake walk for me. It was my third attempt during which I was suffering from severe jaundice. I was not sure of my success. Last time too I narrowly missed clearing the exam.”

Bhagyashri gives the credit of her success to his father. “I have almost proved it that small town students too can make it and that too without attending swanky coaching classes in metro cities. I prepared for UPSC while being in Morshi itself," she added.
