It's Time Microsoft Strategizes with Windows 8

What’s next for Microsoft:

With Windows RT, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 released, it’s certain that Microsoft has failed to unify the Windows platform. In fact, it’s seen throughout the structure as Windows 8 uses existing Microsoft tools, Windows RT offers almost nothing, and Windows Phone offers a set comparable to Android for use by third-party MDM tools. This is where the company needs to strategize.

Morris says that all the three platforms need to have a common, Metro-based management and security architecture and also needs to offer same kind of tool sets for all the users, and this needs to happen fast. With constant economic changes, maybe the market may reject the current offerings as insufficient.

At present Microsoft is in a real crisis. With Windows 8 and Windows RT not delivering on what it was supposed to, Microsoft needs to strategize and that too fast. But the company has a strong history of pulling together under crisis and this time, it is certain that they have a lot of ground to cover. Maybe, it’s apt for Microsoft to think of Windows 8 to be a training wheel so that they can achieve a well-predicted future glory.
