Idea Cellular, usually known as Idea, is a mobile network operator headquartered in Mumbai. The company first started as joint venture by Birla, Tata and AT&T, popularly known as Batata, and was later renamed as IDEA. In 2005, AT&T and Tata parted ways, leaving Birla, to be the sole owner of Idea cellular company. It is the most popular service provider in Maharashtra and it is the first company to introduce flexible tariff plans for the prepaid customers. The company currently has 112.77 percent of the market share in Indian telecom sector.

Reliance Communications Ltd. commonly called as RCOM is a broadband and telecommunications company based in Navi Mumbai, India. RCOM had more than 150 million subscribers as of November-December 2011, and now it’s the country’s 3rd largest telecom operator. It is the subsidiary of the Reliance Group, established in 2004. The company’s wirless services include mobile telephony, broadband and direct-to-home (DTH) service. The company has 14.82 percent of market share in Indian telecom sector.
