#6 Tata DoCoMo

TATA DoCoMo is cellular service provider. The company is strategic joint venture between Tata Teleservices and Japanese telecom giant NTT Docomo. It provides both GSM and CDMA services.

Tata DOCOMO offers both prepaid and postpaid cellular phone services. On 5th November 2010, it became the first private sector telecom company to launch 3G services in India.

And it is well known broadband and telecommunication service provider in the country. The company also offers services under brand names like Virgin Mobile and T24 Mobile. And it is the first company to start one paisa per second call charge plans. It has market value of 8.66 percent in Indian telephone sector.  

 

#5 BSNL

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, popular as BSNL, is a state-owned telecommunication company headquartered in Delhi. It is the largest service provider of fixed telephony and now the 5th largest service provider for mobile phones. The company also provides high-speed broadband access technology. Due to stiff competition from the private players, the company lagged to catch on with youth phenomena associated with mobiles. BSNL has 10.93 percent market share in Indian telecom market.
