India's Honest Bureaucrats Who Raised a Voice against the Corrupt

Mugdha Sinha:

Mugdha Sinha who is the first woman collector of Jhunjhunu was transferred for taking on the local mafia and also for opposing the demand of the local MLA. Though after her transfer she was given a prized posting of collector at Sri Ganganagar, she opted for deputation to the centre and got posting in the office of Union Minister for Commerce. There she had served not only a few people but worked for the common man.  Sinha was a 1999 batch IAS officer who was transferred from the Revenue Board in Ajmer to Jhunjhunu on September 3, 2010.

Several organizations of farmers, traders and students came out in support of the collector. Jhunjhunu taxi and auto union president Kailash Pundit said, "She is the first Collector in Jhunjhunu to do so much work in such little time. She never turned away common people and even met them at night at her residence. She ensured that all complaints were solved within 48 hours."  As a collector, she was successful at closing down on illegal encroachments, faulty mining leases, road construction tenders, and liquor mafia.
