The year 1974 marked the entrance of company into the production of cement. The 116th annual report of Century Textiles and Industries claimed the net income from operations as 
184, 907 lakhs.

Headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, ITC was formed in 1910 as Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited. ITC majorly deals in 5 Business sections: Hotels, Paperboards & Packaging, Agribusiness and Information Technology and FMGC (Fast Moving Consumer Goods).
ITC claims to be the only company in the world of comparable dimensions to be Carbon Positive, Water Positive and Solid Waste Recycling Positive.
The company was renamed as I.T.C. Limited in 1974. ITC earned revenue worth 27, 136 Crores from its Tobacco division that accounts for about 56 percent of its total revenue
