China stood as second largest national economy in the world in 2012 after U.S., based on its purchasing power parity. Although an economic slowdown in Europe had some effects on China’s economy, the currency of the country Yuan, saw an increase by 2 percent. China along with India constitutes about 75 percent of the Asia’s UHNWI population.

3. India

Total Wealth: $925 billion

Population of UNHWI: 7,730

India has the highest number of women millionaires in the world and constitutes about 1,250 UHNW women with combined wealth of $95 billion. There are about 109 billionaires in India according to Wealth-X analysis. They constitute the top 1.4 percent of UHNWI population with control over 20.5 percent of the total ultra wealthy fortune. 

The equity markets saw a decline of 8 percent during the measuring year and rupee declined by 25 percent in the same year.
