History Will Remember Gates as a Philanthropist and Forget Jobs as an Entrepreneur

Steve Jobs - a great and perfect entrepreneur

"And of the great entrepreneurs of this era people will have forgotten Steve Jobs. Who's Steve Jobs again? So, why aren't entrepreneurs like Jobs worthy of idolization? asks Malcolm. Steve Jobs is a visionary and he strived and worked towards improving the living standards of people. Nobody is much aware about Steve’s charity works as he always wanted it to be private and confidential.

In an interview with Playboy in 1985 Steve was found saying “the challenges are to figure out how to live with it and to reinvest it back into the world which means either giving it away or using it to express your concerns or values” when he denied signing the Giving Pledge of Warren Buffett . But Steve did his bit towards charity – He started manufacturing red products of Apple for charity popularly known as “Product Red Program” and through its sales, Apple has been the largest contributor to the global fund to fight AIDS, Malaria and Tuberculosis.

Malcolm also added saying “The greatest entrepreneurs are amoral. It's not that they're immoral; it's that they're amoral. So we need to be clear when we venerate entrepreneurs what we are venerating, they are not moral leaders. If they were moral leaders they wouldn't be great businessmen. So when a businessman is a great moral leader, it is because they have maintained their conscience separately from their operations."
