The court ruling doesn’t just carry legal implications, but can reroute Modi’s well known political ambitions beyond the state boundaries. His rivals have long been crying for his blood but Modi managed to survive the countless allegations and investigations leveled against him, and has successfully reinstated himself as the face of development and excellent governance. "This has been a long campaign that's been going on against him. Time now for his rivals to give up," feels BJP leader Arun Jaitley.

Following this, the Supreme Court directed amicus curiae Raju Ramchandran to independently assess the SIT report. The Amicus Curiae Raju Ramachandran differed with many of the findings in the SIT report and nailed Modi a suspect on various grounds. According to a Tehelka report, the Amicus Curiae has told the Supreme Court to prosecute Narendra Modi. It says that the amicus demanded that the apex court should chargesheet and prosecute Modi for serious criminal offences such as prompting religious enmity, indulging in acts prejudicial to national integration and maintenance of harmony and deliberately disobeying the law with intent to cause injury.
