Windows 7 needs antivirus software products to constantly protect the system resources. These potential viruses could be from removable media such as DVDs and USB dongle; or from internet and other malicious softwares such as Spy wares, and Ad wares. Vendors such as Bit defender, McAfee, Norton and Kapersky render all the services to block these. Although they exist, it is never fully foolproof. The Lion OS does not require any antivirus software and they work smoothly; occurrence of viruses is quite rare. Microsoft has sold nearly 50 million copies of licenses for Windows 7 since April 2011, a huge dip in sales when compared to previous years, while Mac OS Lion has sold 6 million copies till date, with a whooping 1 million sales on the very first day. Nevertheless, Microsoft does have an advantage over Mac, given the fact that Windows 7 isn't hardware specific as Mac OS Lion that requires a Mac computer, and we all know it is expensive. The dominance of windows over the cyber space is already waning with people getting inquisitive to work on other technologies.
