Android Suddenly in Big Trouble This Year!

3. How Android-based Kindle Fire’s success is actually a threat: The only tablet that hasn’t faded off the tablet-scene’s radar is the Kindle Fire. And though this should be good news for Google (since the Fire is based on an Android-base), it actually isn’t. Why? Because it only goes to prove how any company can use the open-source platform as a base and create entirely different products that don’t even need Google’s approval to pass. At this rate, Google will lose out on control over the platform and it will be pulled in too many directions to actually make any progress.

And with other major handset manufacturers wanting to make their own Android flavors instead of being regular providers, this would only make the market more fragmented than it is at present.
