# Colored Flares: Colored Flares are normally used to signal ships and to warn people about dangerous coastal conditions. When Martha Jane Coston’s husband passed away leaving behind an idea in the form of a rough sketch on the flares, Coston started working on the idea and brought it to life. After which, she credited her husband for the first patent and received a second patent in her name for making subsequent improvements on the Flares.

# Monopoly: Monopoly was created by Elizabeth.J.Magie Phillips in 1906 when she hoped to explain the single tax theory of the American economist Henry George. Philips later made subsequent developments in the game, which included buying, selling and land development. She has also designed many other games namely The Landlord’s Game which had 3 parts, Bargain Day and the King’s men.

# COBOL computer language: COBOL was designed by Admiral Grace Murray Hopper in 1950. She was the third person to program the Harvard Mark I computer and inventing a compiler which could change the commands in English to computer codes. Hopper’s program helped programmers create codes easily and she also wrote a manual of operations which helped her juniors too.
