Bangalore: Does Anna Hazare hate everyone in the congress leadership? Otherwise, do all the Congress men hate Anna Hazare? Certainly not. Many young but prominent Congress leaders such as Priya Dutt and Sanjay Nirupam have come in support of Anna Hazare and his relentless fight against corruption. Anna has made it clear that he will negotiate only with Prime Minister's Office, Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi or the Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan. Team Anna's firm is definitely an indicator of the deep difference the activists have with the top guns in the cabinet.
Leaders of the historical anti-corruption movement have expressed their willingness to amend Jan Lokpal Bill and to extend the deadline if clean people with political authority come forward in negotiation. In fact, Team Anna has named PMO, Rahul Gandhi, AK Antony, Jairam Ramesh or Prithviraj Chavan as their choice to act as the negotiator between the government and the civil society. As Anna's fast enters the 8th day, the team has reportedly softened its stand and is ready to talk over the issue with the government, but with riders. However, the protesters are looking for nothing less than direct political talks and have made it clear that negotiations cannot happen with non-government mediators. A prominent member of the group and Anna's close aide Kiran Bedi tweeted that the Prime Minister should send his representative to hold talks on the Jan Lokpal Bill.
