Opera Mini 6 releases for iOS devices

Bangalore: The Opera Mini users can use the new version of the browser 'Opera Mini 6' in their iOS devices. The version 6 has been released for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Opera Mini 6 is able to automatically adapt to the screen size of the iOS devices.
The new version has redesigned menus and more 'share' buttons, which allows users to post links to content they like on social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter more easily. The other features includes much faster and smoother panning and zooming that lets the user get all the way into the details of every page, in one smooth motion. It can download just once for all iOS devices.
The browser claims to compress data traffic up to 90 percent and for the users it will be less waiting for pages to load. Opera Mini 6 is available to download for free from the App Store. Opera Mini 6 includes the compressed technology because of which it can serve up a Web page using about 20 percent of the data size it would normally take for a page to load.
Opera Mini is the most widely used mobile browser in the world, holding a 21.9 percent share of the mobile market, according to a research by StatCounter.
Explaining how the new version of the mobile browser will be useful for Internet connectivity over a 3G network, Phillip Gronvold, Product Manager at Opera, said , "The iOS platform does not handle well connecting on a crowded Wi-Fi network, but with Opera Mini 6, that is our strong suit. That is where we excel. So, in the case where you don't get that quick page load on Safari as you might want, we can load pages for you faster than Safari can."
