4. Windows Media Server:

Windows Media Server is media server for steaming audio and video formats. In the early 2000s, Microsoft said Enterprises will be using the Windows Media Server as they will be catering more videos and lot of business will be done or interacted through video conferencing. Microsoft servers are capable of handling videos, but they traded in the proprietary tech used in Media Server for a standard known as Real Time Streaming Protocol. Just last week ago, Microsoft decided to move the media services to its cloud, Azure. Now, the media services are called as Windows Azure Media Services and this new service does not support the old proprietary technology of Microsoft-WMS technology any more. Leveraging the Windows Azure cloud infrastructure, Windows Azure Media Services gives content providers and media partners the broad capacity of the cloud service to handle huge volumes of digital media and make it available in the format that customers want, when they want it.
