#2 Apple’s 30-pin dock connector

Apple’s range of fans has been building a huge array of peripherals, music docks and third-party accessories to compliment their favorite Smartphone, ever since the debut of the original iPhone in 2007. The 30-pin connector brought out by Apple ensured that each new iPhone remained perfectly compatible with owner’s old accessories. But everything changed drastically with the release of the iPhone 5 as the trusted connector was replaced with a smaller ‘Lighting’ port. Besides, Apple refused to include an adapter in the iPhone 5 sales package, instead customers were charged an additional $35 to use their old accessories with their new Smartphone.

HP’s TouchPad wasn’t given a chance to fight against its rival. The company decided to discontinue its iPad rival merely after a month it was launched. In Australia, the decision to kill the service came less than a week after it hit the markets. The killing of the touchpad resulted in the springing up of the WebOS community. As a result, developers and shoppers took advantage of slashed prices after HP lowered the price of the tablet down to around $150.
