8 Cars That Bagged Record Bookings On Launch


Hyundai Xcent: The Korean manufacturer got tremendous responses as it recorded  11,000 bookings in a month with the launch of its much-awaited compact sedan, the Hyundai Xcent. The car, which basically is a Grand i10-based sedan, has already managed to create quite a buzz in the market mainly because of its refreshing new design and rich cabin.

Offered in five petrol and five diesel trim levels including Era, Magna, Sportz and Asta; prices for the all-new Xcent start at 4.66 lakh for the petrol-powered base variant, going all the way to 7.38 lakh for the top-end  diesel variant.  Powering the Xcent is Hyundai’s familiar 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol engine that is devised to produce 81 bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. And the diesel engine comes with a 1.1-litre U2 CRDi producing 71bhp and 160Nm of torque. The Xcent is devised to compete with the segment leader Maruti Swift Dzire and the Honda Amaze.
