7 Brilliant Non Business Books for Entrepreneurs

4. The Man who never was

Year: 1953

The Second World War based book is about the British intelligence’s Operation Mincemeat to lead the Axis power into deception about the supposed invasion of Italy. The book received immense appreciation due to its brilliant plot and near realistic description of the world war scenario.

Conflict

The basic idea of the Allied power is to deceive the Axis power. They plan to drown a human corpse into the sea near Spain dressed like Major William Martin. Attached with the body would be a briefcase containing fake papers associated with the supposedly confidential invasion of Sicily.

Solution

The book gives a discreet account of how intelligence and various forms of reverse psychology can be used in the right direction. The ruse was so successful that the Germans still believed that Sardinia and Greece were the intended objectives; weeks after the landings in Sicily had begun.
