Snapdeal.com was started by Kunal Bahl, a Wharton graduate and Rohit Bansal, alumnus of IIT Delhi, in February 2010. It was daily deal platform when started, but later expanded into product retailing across various categories like mobiles, computers, laptops, cameras, accessories, apparels, restaurants and many others.

The largest online retailer in U.S., Amazon.com, was officially made available in India on June 5 as Amazon.in. First it started selling books, movies and TV shows, and now it’s a fully bloomed online market place with products that include Mobile Phones, Cameras, Kindle E-Readers, Kindle accessories, E-Books and many others. It also recently was in news for offering Nexus 7 tablets at pig price cuts, 16 GB version at 11,999, and 32 GB version at 15,999, whereas it is 15,999 and 18,999 respectively on Google Play.   

Amazon had previously launched Junglee.com, an aggregator site that listed deals from online retailers, while Amazon.in is the ecommerce giant’s own marketplace in the country.
