Started in 2008, Karmic Lifesciences was founded by Nidhi Saxena, a contract research organization expertising in the fields - Oncology Cardiovascular, Diabetes and Neurology. It is also involved in conducting clinical trials and provides clinical data management to pharma companies such as Novartis International, Cipla and Bayer AG. The Startup raised undisclosed amounts of investments from multiple investors such as Indian Angel Network, Basil Growth Corporation, Mumbai Angels and SIDBI.

The company targets to achieve revenue of 54 crore by the end of FY2013.

#3 Upasana Taku

Taku is the co-founder of Zaakpay, an e-payment portal, engaged in providing solutions for web and mobile transactions.whichwas started in 2011.

Upasana Taku recollects an incident about an investor who asked her about her plans of having children.

"This is something they would not ask a male entrepreneur" says Taku. However, In 2012, the venture received an undisclosed amount of funding from Sequoia Capital. She also added “Women should not let these questions stop them from raising funds; you just need to take it in your stride."

Now the Startup targets 80 crore transactions processed in FY2013.
