Kamala D. Harris

Born in Oakland, California, Harris is a graduate of Howard University, which is supposed to be America’s oldest black university. She also holds a law degree from the University of California’s Hastings College of the Law.

Kamala Harris recently made history when she became the 32nd Attorney General for the Californian State. And in the process, she became the first South Asian woman to hold the office in the history of California.

As an attorney general Harris has been successful in fighting transnational gangs that are trafficking guns, drugs, and human beings across California. She has also encouraged the adoption of technology and data-driven policies that will assist the law enforcement in efficient investigation and prosecution of crime.

Harris was majorly involved in defending the rights of consumers, wherein she set up new prosecutorial teams and made agreements with the technology industry to improve Piracy protections and strengthen online safety for consumers across the country.
