2) Pawan Munjal:

Pawan Munjal, MD and CEO of Hero Motor Corp, is next on the list of the people who will shine in 2012. In March of 2012, Honda is all set to introduce a new 100cc bike, which is said to affect the sales of Hero’s Passion and Splendor. After the original company Hero Honda broke-up, Hero Group and Honda went separate ways and hence, the competition. Munjal’s company will, however have to get the required technology for manufacturing of bikes. The company is already negotiating with Japanese companies for the required technology but needs to focus on making the technology get accustomed to the conditions in India. Hero is also planning to improve its distribution in the country by targeting the metros and other big cities by increasing the touch-points from 4,500 to 5,000. Hero also plans to make their products available in foreign nations. The pricing strategy again comes into play here, where Hero will have to compete with Bajaj, Honda and a few Chinese brands which hold some market share in Africa, South East Asia and Latin America.
