16 Most Popular Tech Mascots Ever

6. Rovio

Angry Birds

The round creatures that gamers throw in the Angry Birds games have made their appearance everywhere. They can be found at the mall or popular tourist destinations worldwide on T-shirts, as luxurious dolls and on posters.

Rovio, the game's developer, says it's planning a series of animated short films and a full length feature film.

5. Zynga dog

A company coming up with a mascot after a name is common. But Zynga Chief Executive Officer Mark Pincus named his online game company after his dog.

His dog Zinga died in 2009, two years after the company was founded and already on the fast track to success. Pincus's white American bulldog inspired the Zynga logo.

4. Firefox

Fox

This popular Web browser was originally called Firebird. Mozilla preferred the fox. "It sounds good. It's unique. We like it. And we weren't able to find any other project or company even remotely similar," the company wrote on its site.

A fox is fast, and most likely one that's on fire is faster. Fire fox is also a nickname for a red panda, a forest mammal native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China.
