#8 Ian Logan, for setting Airbnb free

Ian Logan is leading site performance and scalability at Airbnb.

When Sandy struck the East Coast, the company waived its fees for reservations in affected areas and Airbnb hosts wanted to help, too, by offering free space. But there was a glitch, for technical reasons Airbnb couldn’t have offered a room for free. Ian stepped into the dire situation and rewired the site in five hours enabling hosts to list 1,100 spaces for free.

#7 Sandra Liu Huang, for answering Quora users' demands

Q&A website Quora hired Sandra Liu Huang, previously she was a product executive at Facebook. She has closely worked with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to lay out the 2011 company plan.

After joining Quora, she quickly revamped a controversial feature which told people which questions you looked at on the site after privacy protests broke out. She also helped roll out an Android app, broadening Quora's reach.
