Helmets can be lifesavers in many cases and for Subhash Kapur, these protective device rewrote his life story. Soon after the matriculation in 1959, Kapur ventured into the helmet manufacturing with inputs gained from his family run automobile spare parts shop. Understanding the vast potential in the field Kapur researched more on manufacturing helmets in India and started production with an initial capital of 2 lakhs. The firm was later registered in 1992 as Steelbird Hi Tech India Limited and currently has a turnover of over 150 crore providing employment to 900 people.
