Randy Bias, Co-founder and CTO of CloudScaling:

Randy Bias is the Co-founder and CTO of CloudScaling. A well known specialist in IT infrastructure, Randy was also the lead innovator in implementing infrastructure-as-a-service at GoGrid. Later on, in 2008 GoGrid launched its beta version of its public cloud.

Randy is also known for building the first multi-platform, multi-cloud management systems at CloudScale Networks, which later on inspired him to find CloudScaling. At CloudScaling, Randy implemented a number of large scale cloud primarily based on an unscathed code, the OpenStack. Some of these implementations included KT, Korea’s largest cloud service and Internap, a big data services provider.

As of now, Randy is one of eight gold-sponsor board members of OpenStack Foundation. His views and claims are considered to be the most valuable thoughts in the cloud computing arena.

According to the O'Reilly Radar blog, Bias "led the open licensing of GoGrid's API, which inspired Sun Microsystems, Rackspace Cloud, VMware and others to open license their cloud APIs."
