Charles Pfizer and Charles Erhart were cousin brothers. Pfizer was a chemist and Erhart was a confectioner by profession.

Pfizer migrated to the U.S. at the age of 23 in 1848. In 1849, both the cousin brothers took a loan of $2,500 from Pfizer’s father and founded ‘Pfizer Pharmaceutical Company’. An antiparasitic tablet for intestinal-worms was their first product. This brought much popularity to their company and during the ‘Civil War’, their business expanded to broader extent.

Today, Pfizer is the largest pharmaceutical company in the world.

‘Procter & Gamble’ (P&G) is an American consumer goods company. It is one of the most loved brands and a very common household name across the globe.

William Procter was an English candle-maker who migrated to U.S. in 1832 while James Gamble was an Irish soap-maker. Both William and James married the daughter of Alexander Norris, who later suggested them to unite together and start up a business venture. Thus, on the thirty-first of October, 1837, ‘Procter & Gamble’ was founded.
