Johnson was executive of Apple and later he joined J.C. Penny in 2011. Johnson was the one who came up with the idea of opening Apple Retail Stores and the Genius Bar. Under his supervision Apple retail stores estimated a record level growth exceeding $1 billion of annual sales within two years, which was much better than their previous record set by The Gap. So now J.C. Penny also expects the similar kind of sales like Apple. He is paid $53.3 million annually.
