The name was a ‘Mistake’

This might be a funny little incident but the impact of this scenario still exists and might never-ever fade away. The incident is about the internet giant’s name, though the founders intended to call it “Googol”, there was an error while the VC’s signed the check addressing it to ‘Google’ which has been the name since then.

Boring UI?

Some critics pointed out that Google’s homepage is boring and dull but this didn’t shake the founders as it has a very ‘nostalgic’ story. The white back dropped UI with Google written in 5 different colours existed for a long time and still continues because Larry Page and Sergey Brin then, did not know HTML. For a very long time people could search on Google only by hitting the ‘return’ key as it did not really have a ‘submit’ option.

Does Google Er?

Oh yeah, it does! The error we speak about is not in regards to its search results but in terms of its basic website coding. Though Google is considered to be one of the best and finest internet companies of the century, ironically, it contains 23 markup errors in its codes, something that you don’t expect from the internet leaders.
