It is a commercial optical storage system that was first introduced in North America in 1978.Although the disc storage device was capable of offering high quality video, but due to some of the disadvantageous features like high cost, heavy weight and they got scratched easily.

Along with that, due to the size a lot of mechanical effort required to spin the discs, a lot of noise was generated.

6. Intellivision

Intellivision was a video game console released by Mattel in 1979, basically was introduced for playing video games on a computer. In spite of having graphics and good sound capabilities, it failed to sustain in the markets because of the poor marketing policies.

The reasons emerged were development of new hardware such as Atari 5200, Vectrex in 1982.
