Bangalore: The announcements made by Google on yesterday will bring joy to the millions of Android users and app developers in India, as from now on the developers will be able to monetize their apps through paid apps, in-app purchases and subscriptions. The users are also in for a surprise as all the payments will now be processed in Indian rupees which will enable better transparency and good deals.

Google announced the news through Android blog which said: “Developers in India will receive the monthly payouts to their local bank accounts. They can take advantage of all of the tools offered by Google Play to monetize their products in the best way for their businesses, and can target their products to the paid ecosystem of hundreds of millions of users in India and across the world.”

According to Google, the Android device activations in India jumped more than 400 percent over the past one year, which drove huge increase in app downloads. Google’s decision to add buyer’s currency support for the country is expected to add a strong boost to the Android ecosystem in India.

Google had also invited the developers to visit the revamped Google Play developers console to exploit new opportunities.
