10 Companies That Use More H-1B Visas

Infosys: This IT based Indian company has bagged 6100 holders for H-1B visa and stands at second position. Its number of holders increased from 2012 by over a 1000 holders for the fiscal year of 2013. Infosys spokesperson has said, in support of the Visa plans, that the company encourages “diversity recruitment”. This company though is being sued for having illegally imported work force under the old 1B visa, rather than the harder- to-obtain H-1B visa. In October last year, the company came to a settlement with the U.S attorney’s office over the alleged visa violation. The settlement removed any prolonged litigation allowing them to focus on delivering results to their clients. Most importantly, they can access U.S visas or any federal contract in the future and that this settlement had no impact in such matters.

Cognizant Tech Solutions: The U.S based IT Company had received over 5100 visas, which is almost half its holders from 2012. Just like Infosys, cognizant has also been sued for misuse of this facility in the U.S. Workers from cognizant in the U.S. have filed lawsuits for being replaced by cheap laborers and that Americans are being marginalized over the years. In response to this lawsuit, a spokesperson from the company has said that they will pursue this matter with all legal remedies as this lawsuit was baseless.

Accenture: The fourth biggest gainer with over 3300 visas holders. This company saw a dip with the number of holders from around 4200 in 2012. Accenture is also believed to be fined for hiring temporary foreign staffers to work in the U.S. The company is believed to have increased the number of applicants each year.
