10 Technologies On Anvil To Ensure Limitless Electricity

#6 Bacteria-Powered Lightbulb

Undergraduates at the University of Wisconsin are developing a device known as a Biobulb, which generates light purely from the power of bacteria. The E.coli bacteria that are used here have been genetically re-engineered with the gene for bioluminescence. This enable the bacteria contained inside to glow like jellyfish and fireflies. And the best part is, ambient light is sufficient for them to be recharged.

#5 Shape-Shifting Plastic Powers Motors

A new material has been created that has the ability to change shape and return to its previous form, it has the ability to contract when exposed to ultraviolet light and expand back to its original size when exposed to visible light. Even after hours of rigorous testing involving continuous expansion and contraction, the material showed no loss in strength over 30 hours. This can be used to create window blinds which open and close according to temperature as well as power motors.
