Leading women’s platform SheThePeople, revealed its inaugural "40 Over 40 Power Women List" at an event held in Mumbai. This list is more than just a list; it's a celebration of resilience, strength, and sisterhood. It sheds light on firebrand women who have broken many age barriers to emerge as achievers - and question societal norms.
Shaili Chopra, the founder of Gytree & SheThePeople, said "Celebrating women 40 over 40 has been a first such initiative in India over the last few years - we want to recognise firebrand and feisty women who are driving a new narrative - that women reignite and reinvent all the time. This is a special space for not being held back by some random age norms”
The event was held at SOCIAL, Versova.
Househelp-turned Stand-Up Comic Deepika Mhatre, Hair Stylist Sapna Bhavnani, Chef Amrita Raichand, Author Meghna Pant, 53-year old Biker Neeru Saini, Transwoman Zainab Patel, Mental Health Advocate Aparna Piramal Raje were among those honoured. The total list of winners is below.

Divya Aggarwal, Chief Growth Officer, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd., said "At SOCIAL, we are thrilled to support initiatives that not only recognize but also amplify the enduring impact of women across all sectors and ages. SheThePeople’s initiative aligns perfectly with our commitment to celebrating diverse narratives and inclusivity. All professionals on this list have redefined success, reshaping the societal norms that often define us."
Actor and producer Mini Mathur also spoke about unabashedly embracing oneself in all their perfections and flaws. "I think we need to collectively not be embarrassed about taking up space in a room. Use the word-- I'm perimenopausal. I'm menopausal. If someone is uncomfortable about that, that's your problem. Not mine."
Neeru Saini, a widow who took to raising her two daughters and picked up biking at 53, said, “We women need to take charge of our lives, take charge of our monies. Women need to have more property ownership than we currently do.”
The 40 Over 40 Power Women List had women from all walks of life - each one a trailblazer in her own right. As a platform dedicated to recognizing change-makers, SheThePeople plans to take this initiative to many different cities.
