BANGALORE: TouchFone technology is a Bangalore based Startup Company that offers buffer free videos on the devices and networks on a reduced bandwidth. The company currently has employed around 22 people and has half a dozen clients.

Apparently, the company has joined hands with some of the mobile service providers for streaming videos on the 2G devices and has joint ventured  with Nokia for the ‘Your movies’, a movie streaming service for Nokia phones.

Currently, the company intends to raise a $6 million of funding from the investors and is nurtured at the Microsoft Accelerator program. However, the company had already raised $200.000 from Blume ventures.

"Videos work best if you have higher bandwidth. But we set out to change that perception — irrespective of the network or the device, we will get you high quality video," said Akella, the Co-Founder of the company.

Videos on the mobile internet attracts a lot of traffic, and the videos on demand is still not seen increasing because of the bandwidth problems as only 15 percent of the total mobile connections have switched to 3G, while, the others still using 2G connections.
