After Silicon Valley And Bangalore, Indian Startups Head To Africa


Bangalore: Africa, the world’s second most populous continent has always been the centre of attraction for big business enterprises from all around the world for its rich mineral resources. But, there has been a radical shift and it is startups that are taking over now. Many Indian startups are shifting focus to Africa as it resembles India in terms of market opportunities, reports ET.

"This is definitely a trend. Africa poses a great opportunity for the whole of India. There is lot of positive energy there. And it also looks familiar due to the presence of significant Indian population," says Ramesh Emani, co-founder and CEO of Insta Health Solutions, who expanded his startup operations to Africa.

Recently, Indian School of Business (ISB) conducted a joint workshop for entrepreneurs from Africa to come together and work with Indian entrepreneurs. The Ministry of External Affairs in India supported this movement and the outcome was an exhilarating one..
