ShopAlike is a product comparison portal for a colossal variety of goods .It caters to product comparison for apparels, shoes, bags, accessories, jewellery, fashion, home furnishing and many more. The startup is owned by Berlin-based media company Visual Meta GmbH and is backed by European multi-media giant Axel Springer AG.

It operates as a marketplace for e-commerce players that bring forward their storefronts and present their product catalogue on the site. With its launch in India last year, it has received a number of players that includes Firstcry.com, HomeShop18.com, Indiatimes.com and Infibeam.com. Their biggest competitor from India blows in the direction of Helion Venture Partners (backed MySmartPrice.com) and Amazon’s junglee.com.

Tripda

Brazil-based multi-location ride-sharing marketplace is backed by German Internet giant Rocket Internet.  This startup sources drivers with available seats to people who need to travel long distance. One can create an account with them by simply using their Facebook ID and then entering their location, destination and time and date of departure.

Drivers who wish to be part of this service are required to register their vehicle by disclosing the car’s brand, model, and number of seats available and level of comfort. Tripda provides the payment rates for drivers to charge each passenger. Passengers and drivers are also entitled to opt for personal travel preferences, exchange messages and permit travel partners who are taking similar routes.
