India Rises To The Ice Bucket Challenge

The real question lies if whether it is possible to have fun while raising funds and awareness for a cause’? Yes it is, and this act done by people from various background, race and profession has shown that the world can unite in support of a cause that is giving hope and support to the victims of ALS. As of right now there are 30,000 people in America who are diagnosed with ALS and through this campaign a charity of $13.3 million has been raised to help these victims.

The number of ALS patients around the world is unknown but the ALS Association will be able to bring medical aid to victims the common man may not know about. So this simple act and a donation of $10 to $100 bucks just might give an ALS patient a couple more years to live.

"You have a shot at changing the world, in a way, and there's no reason to stop having fun... not only have fun, but you're creating awareness for a disease that has something special that's happening. God-willing, a cure could come," in the words of an ALS patient Quinn from America.

This is the reason behind the craze of the ice bucket challenge being adopted by people all over the world. Let’s hope that skeptics will understand and one day the world will see a cure for this disease that has wasted many a life of young and old, girls and boys, parents and loved ones.
