Gatka is traditional martial arts developed by the Sikh community for self defense and thus originated in Punjab region; swords were used as weapons and shields for protections. But, today it is mostly performed as sports and rituals and hence, wooden staves have replaced the swords.
Musti-Yuddha:
Musti-Yuddha, practiced in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. This art is closely comparable with South-Asian Style of Boxing. Participators of Musti Yuddha undergo a tough training and are not suppose to wear any protection gears for the combat. This was a famous sport in Varanasi but was eventually banned in action against the violence that the game was creating.
