Xiaomi Mi 3 First Impressions: A Budget Phone That Offers A Lot More

BANGALORE: Xiaomi, China's front runner in Smartphone market, has stepped into the highly competetive Indian market with the launch of its first smartphone—the Mi 3. The Xiaomi Mi 3 will be up for grabs starting from 22 July through online retail giant Flipkart at a price tag of 13,999. Meanwhile, if you want to get its first impressions, here are 5 reasons why Xiaomi Mi 3 is poised to be the best budget Smartphone in the country, as listed by Anupam Saxena of TOI.

Solid Build and Understated Design
The Xiaomi Mi 3 is a beautiful and classy device that is built like any other premium phones in the market. With its sleek and thin design, the body features an aluminum-magnesium alloy frame coated with 3 layers of thermal graphite, enclosed with a back panel made of good quality plastic and a full-HD Gorilla glass display.
The phone is 8.1 mm thin and sports a uni-body design with no unattractive screws or any removable battery casings. Despite its large size, the phone is not heavy and is easy to carry around. The power and volume keys are placed at the right edge while the left edge does not carry anything. The speaker grill and micro-USB port are placed at the bottom edge while the 3.5mm headset jack sits at the top, in line with a sim card tray.
On the top, there’s the proximity and light sensor, phone speaker, as well as front camera and a status LED. Right below you can see the three identical Android buttons that are softly illuminated in the frame.
