5. Housatonic Community College

Brief: Two computers in the HCC were attacked by malware almost at the same time that resulted in unauthorized access of more than 87,000 members of the college community including professors, students etc. The breach was detected during late hourly scans and the infected computers were segregated and sent for the forensic investigations. The breach exposed the personal information of thousands of members that might result in identity theft.
