Women's Ratio in MBA Still Stands Low

Business schools have made constant attempts to draw the attention to women candidate, and because of which the ratio has raised from 33 percent to 39 percent at present. Most men prefer to apply for MBA course to become entrepreneurs, where as the women prefer it to get better job options. The study shows that for both sexes the finance and consultancy regions are mostly the non preferred ones on the list. Women are engrossed by the large array of sectors like media and advertising, non-profit and charity and consumer goods. When it comes to career and salary women chose the ones which allow them the flexibility to plan a family. And for the courses they prefer ones with shorter term.

The survey showed that most preferable industries for MBA applicants to apply post MBA are finance, which is at 47 percent, next is energy and utilities with 45.8 percent, third comes consulting with 42 percent and in the fourth place is media and advertising with 38.9 percent. The case of career switch is natural in MBA candidates but most of them prefer to remain in their existing industry.  As a matter of fact there are precisely three present industries which are - retail or wholesale, technology and telecoms. The candidates have plans to pursue the courses which will serve the best for their future. When it comes to men and women, they both have a different preference when it comes to the roles they play as an integral part of the society and family.
