Why is Indian IT Shunning a $125 Bn Opportunity

"Third-party maintenance is an opportunity they will not officially recognise given their strong ties with SAP and Oracle," said Frederic Giron, vice-president and principal analyst at Forrester Research.

Giron advices Indian IT to clear the smoke by providing similar services to larger companies, if companies opt to outsource their maintenance deals to third party companies.

The $125 Billion Dilemma!

There are many reasons. One main thing is the obnoxious fact- a larger company at service means higher rate of clients and a better customer trust.  Another reason is that Indian IT depends heavily on large companies. They, one or the other way, need their technologies and marketing support.

Reasons just don’t end up there, as there are possibilities of monetary penalties by the software makers, which make things more complicated.

But still there is a catch to reckon with. The vendor market still remains a place where enterprises need to bid for appropriate companies that fulfills their cost saving objectives, rather than a place where providers dash in offering their cheaper services.
