Research In Motion or as it is popularly known as RIM committed the same mistake as Nokia. Android OS has emerged as the foremost killer of all the heroes of the mobile industry capturing majority of their market shares. RIM that is famed for its BlackBerry phones captured a majority of the Smartphone arena and was seen as a primary option to the corporate world. However, its inability to maintain its sheen and fast upgrades to accommodate changes for features Android offered has resulted in the downfall of its market. Its major rivals being Samsung and HTC who have made it worse for RIM’s sustainability.
In desperate measures to save its grace in the market and reimburse its losses, RIM is expected to cut a total of 2000 jobs across the globe. It has also scheduled the release of its latest BlackBerry OS 10 in the first quarter of 2013 and is expecting to regain its ground.
Finger’s crossed!
